Unit Plan Title: Shop Til You Drop
Unit Summary: Students have gained experience using fractions, decimals, and percents. They have worked with visual models to understand these concepts and have practiced computations. Students know how to convert among fractions, decimals, and percents and can use the percent proportion to solve problems. Students will explore applications including percent of change, sales tax, discount, and simple interest. Students will virtually shop, compare prices, calculate discounts, taxes, shipping charges and make a consumer decision of the items to purchase and the appropriate vendor.
