Unit Plan Title: Geo-Teen: Geography For Teens Unit Summary: Students learn about the need for geography and the ways that geography is used every day by studying geographical terms, maps, themes, etc. They construct a working definition of key geographic terms, participate in multiple activities that reinforce proper use of geography and work in groups to present student created games that include the material discussed and learned throughout the unit. Using a multitude of geographic resources (such as a variety of maps, globes, scales, etc.), as a foundation, students study varied uses of geography; create several projects; and lead the class in student-created games that review the material from the unit. Students will have several opportunities to explore different careers and opportunities in which they would utilize the geographic tools and methods that were discussed.
