Unit Plan Title: The Human Body Quest

Unit Summary:
During each class the students will examine a different system of the human body and discover exactly how their body’s insides (and outsides) function.
The unit is divided into four parts. Part one discusses bones and has 5 lessons. Part two discusses the heart and has 5 lessons. Part three discusses the digestive system and has five lessons. Finally, part four discusses the nervous system and has 7 lessons. Students will spend one week reviewing lessons and working on their final student project.
Students will complete a variety of graphic organizers before, during, and after lessons. They will also be given a quiz at the end of each part for each of the four parts. At the end of the unit, students will complete a flip chart discussing 3 body parts they have learned about. They will also take an assessment by using the Activboard after creating their flip chart. Students will be grade using a rubric during class projects.
