Unit Plan Title: Volcanoes Unit Summary: Within this unit, students will learn about volcanoes and the their effects on land formations. This unit will discuss how volcanoes change the surface of the earth. It will also lead students in identifying the destruction that volcanos have brought about within major cities and towns.Students will identify types of volcanos, their geographic locations and identify distance and population of nearest city within volcano's range. They will also discuss eruptions that have occurred, changes to landforms and hazards to humans living within the vicinity. Curriculum Framing Questions:
What are factors that have caused the earth’s surface to change overtime?
How have volcanoes caused the earth surface to change?
What major volcanoes have occurred through history and how has each, individually, effected land formations in the surrounding area?
